Pilots from other countries are spotted on the server from time. I wonder they might feel lost in Russian surroundings. Just in case you have any questions - drop a line here.

A short abstract to get you started

This is an Eastern Front WWII campaign server - the game starts in June 41 and ends in May 45. Each mission's results define the move of the front, eastward, westward or none. To move the front in any direction the resulting difference in front line ground troops should be at least 100 points.

You need to register your pilot's nick at http://il2org.ru:8080/war/register/. One nick can only play for one team - red or blue. Playing for more than 1 team and nick per game is not allowed.

Use your registered nick when joining the game. once logged to server, send <pass<yourpass to Server channel. Illustrated how-to is here http://il2org.ru/pass.php

Access to planes is regulated by ranks. Ranks are defined by points earned. Points are awarded/substracted for destroying enemies' ground forces and planes from one side and losing planes/pilots/crash landing.

Hello! although I do speak some Russian, I struggle to read it fluently.
My question is this: When and how does a pilot change teams from Blue to Red? I don't plan on switching soon, but when the war is over I may want to switch to Red.

You'll need to register two callsigns - one for each side. The rule is 1 side & 1 callsign per war/campaign.
Campaigns last from June 41 to May 45, 12 hrs per month, which gives 48 months & 24 days in real time.
That is if no side captures the capital city of an enemy, then it may be shorter

So I can have 2 callsigns but only use 1 per war and then I can switch to my other callsign when the war is over?

You may switch to every your callsign during the same war...that`s not violation of the rules here...

The rule is one campaign - one callsign. Otherwise the whole concept of penalty scores fails.
The catch - that rule is not regularly enforced.
At any given moment it may well be. :baseball:

Why do you guys use teamspeak 2, Is there any specific reason for that?

Also, how many english speaking people are there on blue in the current campaign?))))

There is no particular reason except that it was used in the past - and we simply had not switched on to 3rd. a power of tradition. I can put TS3 server up if that's a showstopper.
There are occasionally players from abroad, but english speaking communicaty is not significant as we speak. Would love to hear your feedback and ideas on how to grow it.

I think a TS3 server would be a good idea, the quality is a lot better. Also I think having english channels in the Teamspeak (for both sides) would not scare away potential new non-russian players. Finishing the translation of the main site would be a good start I believe.

Not decided yet. This patch adds little to 4.13.2 yet makes playing with mods troublesome.
That's the reason we are not rushing with the upgrade.

new ground units and a lot of changes & improvements.
But you are right the Patch 4.13.4 brings a little but important patch.
I hope the server will be upgraded to 4.13.4.

There are some troubles to implement the HD true color skins in 4.13.4. That the reason why administration is not willing to push this updated.

4.13.4 brings bf110C for the cost of possibly losing players, who play modded versions of the game.

well the BF-110C is not very fast.
You only have an extended weapon selection to attack ground line.
In comparison to the possibilities of the IL-2 Sturmoviks is almost nothing.
This can not be a reason why gamers will stay away.
This with the HD skins has TD corrected with 4.13.4 again.

the major reason we haven't moved to 4.13.4 is lack of support for mods.

If there were drastic improvements in 4.13.3-4.13.4, we would definetely upgrade. While most of the players play vanilla version, including myself, there is stil a minority which play mods, which greatly enhance the look and feel of the game. I would not want to risk losing them.
